Here are 5 interesting links for the month of February – all Mercer Island-related news and notes from around the web. Hope you enjoy!

  1.  A Mercer Island waterfront home made it into this island living Curbed Comparisons article, along with homes on Maui, Martha’s Vineyard, and more. [Curbed.com]
  2. Looking for a single app for smarter reading?  Islander Nikki Piplani recently launched ThinkFiend, a news app that curates well-written, thoughtful content (think The New Yorker and Harper’s Magazine).  [Mercer Island Reporter]
  3. Looking for spiritual inspiration?  There’s a new pastor in town – Kristy Farber was recently called to the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church – and I have to say, she strikes a chord with her audience. After her first message, the congregational vote to install her as pastor passed with 99.6% voting in favor. Only one person voted against – proving the rule, you just can’t make everyone happy. [Mercer Island Presbyterian Church]
  4. Calkins Landing and Calkins Point, two city park areas on the North end of Mercer Island, are getting makeovers with hardscaping and planting improvements. Both are expected to reopen to the public around May. [City of Mercer Island]
  5. A credit card cloner attempted a $600 bra and panty purchase using an Islander’s credit card. The purchase was declined after a fraud-alert activated, but not before the cloner bought a $1700 Surface Tablet at the Microsoft store. [Q13 Fox]

And as a bonus link, this sweet Cape-Cod style home on a half-acre(!) is my favorite new listing on Mercer Island – also located in my favorite neighborhood! Want to take a look at it? Get in touch!
