Adventure Playground is opening for another season this Tuesday, July 5th.
JayMarc Homes, sponsor of Adventure Playground, is hosting a kick-off event on Tuesday from 2 to 3 pm. Construction managers will be present to conduct small demonstrations, help kids with their own projects, and answer questions from young aspiring builders.
About: Adventure Playground is a one of a kind play area that allows kids to create their own play adventure. Nestled in the wooded forest of Deane’s Children’s Park, children are provided toolboxes, various building supplies, safety items and the freedom to create build-it-yourself play zones with the guidance of Staff.
Where: Deane’s Children’s Park (5500 Island Crest Way, Mercer Island)
Ages: Children under 12 must be with a parent. Children must be 12 years of age to be left unsupervised. Parents are encouraged to stay and play with their children.
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday*
Date/Time: July 5th through September 25th*, 1pm to 4pm
*playground is only open Sundays in September
Closed: July 10th and September 4th
Required: Closed toed shoes are required. No one will be allowed into Adventure Playground wearing open toed shoes such as sandals.
Fee: By Donation. Adventure Playground is also available for parties or private rentals. Call 206.275.7862.
Building supply donations such as lumber, nails, tools, and rope are always welcome during program months of operation. Please email Katie Herzog [email protected] to coordinate your donation or drop off supplies during the hours the playground is open.
