Gather your friends to experience Mercer Island’s new culinary event center! Caruccio’s will open its doors with a series of delicious Italian cooking events starting on August 24th.

The “soft opening” culinary events will be presented by Cindy Swain from Italicana Kitchen. A Washington state native, Swain is a professional recipe writer, blogger, photographer, wine sommelier, and brand ambassador. She currently lives in Emilia Romagna, Italy, where she offers cooking classes, food and wine tours, and publishes Italicana Kitchen, a bilingual food, wine, and travel blog.

The events include cooking classes for kids, teens, and adults, an ancient grain culinary demonstration, as well as a three-course ancient grain dinner:

  • Discover Farro, an Italian Ancient Grain. Two interactive cooking classes for adults.
  • Learn how to cook like an Italian!  Two interactive cooking classes; one for kids and one for teens.
  • Ancient Grain Italian Dinner. A pop-up dinner event featuring a 3 course menu.
  • Ancient Grain Culinary Demonstration. Discover how to make three ancient grain farro recipes.

Event sponsors include Poggio del Farro and Balsamico Bonini. Registration for the events is now open on Caruccio’s website.

Caruccio’s will be located at 2441 76th Ave SE, Suite 100, in the north corner of the Aviara building, in retail space next to The Dailey Method and The Islander.
