A letter to our readers –
This weekly newsletter is easier to publish some weeks than others, and this was a tough week. I have written, re-written, deleted, and started over, and words continue to be inadequate when the subject is the loss of one of our youngest community members, Ewan Lill – who was so very loved by our community and whose smile could melt your heart. I got to spend a little time with Ewan four or five years ago. He attended Sunday School with my son, Liam. I was a “shepherd” alongside Ewan’s dad Michael, and we helped with the preschool-aged children in the “Noah’s Shipyard” group, which was somewhat akin to herding cats. Though Ewan was among the most delightful cats to herd.
Words failed me in my post about Ewan’s Remembrance and Celebration Service, but I decided to publish it anyway (with Jenny and Michael’s permission) because of the previous blog posts we published about the outpouring of community support for Ewan and his family. I decided I should still publish in times of grief as in times of hope. This little blog was created to be a helpful resource, and I thank our readers – I know you will come through and find the information you need to help and continue your support of the Lill-Harrington family.
Sincerely,
Erin
