At Mercerdale Park! This Saturday, October 15th, Mercer Island Parks & Recreation will sponsor the sixth annual celebration of Arbor Day: a day dedicated to public tree-planting.
Event description from Mercer Island Parks & Rec:
We’re celebrating our 6th year as a Tree City with our annual Arbor Day planting event! Come plant trees and shrubs in Mercerdale Park to enhance the forest buffer and start the next generation of trees. Get your hands in the dirt, celebrate the trees of the city, work alongside neighbors and friends, and eat snacks! No experience necessary; gloves and tools are provided.
What to bring: Dress for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (think: long pants, boots or sneakers). Bring a water bottle. Small snacks, gloves, and tools will be provided.
Where: Mercerdale Park, near the skate park
