Join Island Books for their third event with the Microsoft Alumni Network. Author Paul Shoemaker will be discussing his latest book Taking Charge of Change: How Rebuilders Solve Hard Problems.

Paul Shoemaker, is an author, podcaster, consultant, and the founding president of Social Venture Partners (SVP), a global network of thousands of social innovators, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and community leaders that support social change agents in over forty cities and eight countries. He worked at Microsoft for over decade and spent some time at Nestle before moving into the consultant space at SVP.

His first book, Can’t Not Do: The Compelling Social Drive that Changes our Worldtells stories of regular people who sought to do something extraordinary. In Taking Charge of Change Paul introduces us to the “Rebuilders”  who are moving us forward in the very challenging decade ahead, and discusses how to apply some of their effectiveness, qualities, attributes to your own leadership. He will be in conversation with Richard Woo, former CEO of The Russell Foundation and The Levi Strauss Foundation.
