Description
Being a lifeguard can be a very challenging and rewarding job. This class will certify participants in Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid as well as AED. Participants must attend all classes as well as pass a final written and water test. All participants must be 15 years old or older before the final exam, be able to swim 300 yards continuously (using freestyle and breaststroke), recover a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool, and tread water with no hands for 2 minutes.
Cost for the training class is $240. The Stroum Jewish Community Center (SJCC) will hire lifeguards directly from the class. If you work for the SJCC for 3 months, your training fee will be reimbursed.
Class Dates:
Friday, July 16th from 5 – 9 pm
Saturday, July 17th from 12 – 8 pm
Sunday, July 18th from 12 – 8 pm
