Description
Seattle Shakespeare Company presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream, where puppets and actors create theatrical magic in Shakespeare’s enchanting comedy about love gone awry.
Event description from Seattle Shakespeare:
The Things We Do for Love. When two pairs of mixed-up lovers, along with a troupe of amateur players, stumble into the forest of two feuding fairies, it results in an enchanting mix of merriment. After a love potion plan goes awry, the fairy queen’s heart is captured by an unlikely suitor who has been transformed into a donkey. Leave it to that mischief maker Puck to not only create romantic chaos, but to also set things right.
Love, Love, Love. Shakespeare used the word “love” 140 times in creating his comic masterpiece. The play is a celebration of love in all its forms as well as about learning to see with new eyes once the trials of the night have ended.
A Pocketful of Tricks. Artistic Director Geroge Mount’s production will utilize seven actors and puppets to create a dreamy adventure that muddles love and magic into a classic fairytale brought to life.
Wooden O performs at the amphitheater a short distance from the north parking lot. The Luther Burbank Amphitheater is a popular location for weddings, stage productions, and special events. A large tiered lawn seating area faces the “stage” which has a three-piece wooden backdrop. The Amphitheater is located near a paved path from the north parking lot.
