To celebrate Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander (AAPI) families of Mercer Island School District, Islander Middle School PTSA announces the first-ever Voices Heard event.

Event description:

Please join us for the first ever Voices Heard event. The goal of the evening is to engage and connect the AAPI community on Mercer Island with the ongoing and future work of Mercer Island School District.

With a new superintendent and a few newer principals, it’s a great opportunity for our administrators to better understand this sector of the community and for the AAPI community to gain a deeper understanding of the culture and educational approach of the Mercer Island School District.

This will NOT be a fundraising event; it’s an opportunity to create connections and learn more – all while having fun! The hope is that more families will want to engage further and find what issues are important to the AAPI community to be a voice for advocacy in MISD.

The event will feature a traditional Chinese banquet dinner, dancing, music, a keynote from Dr. Fred Rundle, interviews with various community members and groups, and other programming.

The cost of the event is $60, and all are welcome! For more information and to sign up, click here.
