The Lakeridge K-Kids Club presented a generous donation of $4,623.66 to Seattle Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, September 6th. The K-Kids raised the funds to go toward leukemia research through a bracelet fundraiser conducted last spring. The students organized the fundraiser in support of fellow classmate Ewan Lill, who is now in remission after battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Ewan Lill and his family attended the presentation, and the Lakeridge 2016-2017 K-Kids Club officers presented the gift to Dr. Doug Hawkins, Associate Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology at Seattle Children’s.

Lakeridge Elementary’s ‘K-Kids Club’ focuses on learning leadership through community service. Read more about the bracelet fundraiser from our post published earlier this year.

K-Kids Club thanks Ewan and his family for their support of the project, the teachers and staff at Lakeridge, all of the families that purchased bracelets, as well as the K-Kids Club members and advisors for working so hard to make this project a success.
