A “for lease” sign is up at the refurbished 76 gas station, signaling an end for Mercer Island’s favorite fish-and-chips spot, Freshy’s Seafood Shack.

Owner Bryce Caldwell announced that he will be closing this casual dining joint, though a seafood dining experience is in the works for Freshy’s Local Market, his farm-to-market store located in the Hadley building in downtown Mercer Island. (Stay tuned for more details.)

Customers of Freshy’s Seafood Shack still have time to stop in for one last battered and fried fish meal – the Shack will be open Thursday through Sunday, 11:30 am to 7:30 pm, and on Taco Tuesday for lunch only, 11:30 am to 3 pm, until December 2nd.
