Premier Catch, a local family-operated and women-owned seafood company, recently announced the launch of their community pop-up shops on Mercer Island.

The company’s co-owners, Ashley Besecker and Joci Besecker, seek to offer high-quality and sustainable seafood at “friends-and-family” prices. With the latest introduction of pop-up shops, they aim to increase community members’ access to affordable, delicious seafood.

At its core, Premier Catch strives to increase accessibility to local, wild, and high-quality seafood. The family behind the business has spent years developing relationships with multi-generational fishing families around the Pacific Ocean. Through these connections, the company is able to bring the highest quality seafood to community members at more affordable prices than those found at grocery stores and online retailers.

Premier Catch is accepting pre-orders via www.premiercatch.com and provides various no-contact, drive-through pick-up options, which are scheduled bi-monthly in local neighborhood venues. Their current offerings include wild sablefish (also known as black cod), wild Sockeye salmon, wild Dungeness crab, and wild premium Albacore tuna. They will continue adding items seasonally, including wild Pacific halibut, wild Alaskan king crab, wild Alaskan spot prawns, and more.

“We want to change the way people purchase seafood and plan family meals. Often the barriers to high quality, wild seafood are that it is too expensive, too intimidating or that it’s difficult to determine quality,” said co-owner, Ashley Besecker. “We are going to start by bringing our local communities seafood like Dungeness crab, wild salmon and sablefish, freshly canned albacore tuna and other items, and hope to expand into shipping directly to our customers very soon.”

“After years of hosting delicious seafood dinners with our family and friends, and constantly being asked ‘how can we buy this seafood’, we have dedicated these past several months into making that a reality,” said co-owner, Joci Besecker. “Our lifestyles have adjusted and we recognize the importance of easily accessible, healthy, home-cooked meals. We listened and are offering all of our products in portion sizes, so it works great for one, two or several family members. It’s absolutely the best, highest-quality seafood and we are thrilled to be able to offer it.”

The next pop-up will take place Tuesday, July 14th, from noon to 5 pm at the Mercer Island Chase Bank Building upper parking lot in downtown Mercer Island.

This pop-up collection will feature Wild Alaskan King Salmon, Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, Wild Pacific Halibut, Wild Sablefish (Black Cod), Dungeness Crab Snap and Eats, and Canned Sushi Loin Albacore Tuna.
