Art, wine, music and fun will once again fill the streets of Mercer Island. Sponsored by Chamber of Commerce and the Mercer Island Visual Arts League (MIVAL) , “Art Uncorked” will bring together wine tasting, art, music, and food to the plaza on 78th Avenue SE and Sunset Highway just south of the Outdoor Sculpture Gallery. The event will take place Friday, September 11th, from 6 to 9 pm.
Guests are invited to enjoy the unique mix of artwork presented by juried artists as well as taste wines of more than a dozen Washington state wineries, many with connections to Mercer Island. The wineries will pour two or more of their wines under tents along 78th Street and Sunset Highway. Wines poured will be available for purchase at a 10% discount.
New this year, Art Uncorked will feature a “Meet the Winemaker” hour, sponsored by Aljoya, from 5 to 6 p.m. This hour will offer an opportunity for visitors to talk with the winemakers, enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, and beat the crowds.
Food trucks will provide delicious choices for everything from snacks to full meals. Live music will contribute to the festive mood.
