The Allview Heights neighborhood is a conveniently located mid-island neighborhood near Ellis Pond and the Mercer Island Library. It is just south of the island’s “megablock” – location of the Mercer Island High School, Northwood Elementary school, the Mercer Island School District administration building, and the Mary Wayte Swimming Pool.
The name Allview Heights comes from the Allview Heights school, which once stood on the property where you’ll now find the library. Due a lack of students, it was closed permanently in 1916 and torn down in 1938.
Most homes in this neighborhood were built in the 1950s and 1960s with a handful of newer construction homes throughout.
Residents of this flat neighborhood have easy access it Island Crest Way and can be on the north end or the south end of the island in minutes.
