Students in the Mercer Island School District are now on a two-week school break, and families, teachers, and staff are now turning their focus to holiday celebrations and vacation plans.

This time of year also brings the release of reports by the Mercer Island School District (MISD) and the Mercer Island Schools Foundation (MISF) that reflect back on the 2016-2017 school year. Additionally, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has published “report cards” for each public school in Washington State.

Mercer Island School District releases 2016-2017 Annual Report

The Mercer Island School District (MISD) has released its 2016-2017 annual report, which highlights student achievement; the district’s 2020 Vision & Mission; enrollment and test score information; and more.

Mercer Island Schools Foundation 2016-2017 Impact Report now available

The Mercer Island Schools Foundation (MISF) has also published its annual impact report, including 2016-2017 revenues and distribution of funding and more.

Every year, the foundation supports Mercer Island students with approximately $2 million in private donations. These funds support special projects and educational opportunities that are not funded (or only partially funded) by the MISD budget.

Last school year, the foundation raised its highest-ever amount in its 36-year history – a total of $1,955,167.
