The Mercer Island Schools Foundation (MISF) invites you to join 600 parents, community leaders, businesses, and educators as they gather to celebrate exceptional students, outstanding teachers, and award-winning alumni for this extraordinary showcase event, the Breakfast of Champions.

This kick-off event for the MISF Bridge Campaign will take place on Tuesday, April 30th, from 7:30 to 8:30 am at the Mercer Island High School.

During the breakfast program, the District will recognize the 2019 Pathfinder Award recipients, celebrating four distinguished graduates of the Mercer Island High School.  This year’s recipients include:

  • Caroline Fraser, 1979, author and winner of the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for biography for her critically acclaimed book “Prairie Fires” about the life of author Laura Ingalls Wilder.
  • Pete Nordstrom, 1980, Erik Nordstrom, 1981, co-presidents of Nordstrom, the Seattle-based fashion retailer, and posthumously, Blake Nordstrom, 1978.

Fifteen alumni have now been recognized since the awards began in 2016.

MISF supports more than 4,300 students and their teachers at all six schools on Mercer Island. The event always brings together the entire Mercer Island community – parents, business and community leaders, elected officials, alumni and more. Be a Sponsor or Table Captain, or be our guest; you won’t want to miss this exciting community-wide event.
