The Mercer Island Preschool Association will soon present its 50th annual Circus celebration.

MIPA’s Circus began in 1966 as a Dr. Seuss-inspired carnival called “Circus McGurkus” for the children of Mercer Island. Since then, it has grown into a festival that attracts hundreds of families from all over Seattle and the Eastside.

2016 Circus Square PromoThis year’s event will take place Saturday, April 23rd, from 10 am to 2 pm, at the Mercer Island High School. A treasured Island tradition, MIPA’s Circus offers live music, entertainment, games, pony rides, food trucks, and more. (Click on the image to the right for more details.)

But first, a Circus reunion . . .
In honor of Circus’ 50th year, MIPA is hosting a MIPA Circus Reunion on March 24th.  Circus co-chairs and volunteers from years past are invited for an evening of celebrating memories of this beloved island tradition.
The event will take place on Thursday, March 24th, from 7 to 9 pm, at the Mercer Island Beach Club.  MIPA is also looking for photos and other artifacts from the event from the past 50 years. If you have something you’d like to share, please bring them to the event and send your RSVP to [email protected].
