Beginning January 13th, 2017, Mercer Island Youth and Family Services (MIYFS) will offer a support group for parents and caregivers of children with autism or other intellectual disabilities.

The caregivers’ group, currently called Mercer Island PROPS – an acronym for ‘Parents Reaching out to Parents about Special Needs’ – will be free of charge and held once a month at MIYFS’s brick building in Luther Burbank Park.

PROPS will provide caregivers a community and a place for support, self-care, as well as an avenue to engage in discussions free of judgment. The group will accept 8 -10 parents; screening appointments will take place now through December 13th.

If you are interested in participating, contact Alan Tokosch ([email protected] or 206-275-7811) for an in-person screening interview.
