This summer, Oh! Chocolate Mercer Island is hosting chocolate classes for kids, ages 6 through 12, on Wednesdays and Fridays from June 27th to August 29th.
Classes will start with introductions and a lesson about where cacao comes from, how it grows, and how it’s processed into delicious chocolate. The first project the kids will create is their very own chocolate “art” – they will pour out some chocolate in a circle shape, then decorate the chocolate with mini M&M’s, gummi bears, dried cranberries, and many other goodies.
The second project includes filling mini chocolate molds. Their third and last project will give the kids a chance to make milk/dark chocolate-dipped strawberries and cookies. Their treats will be packed up in a take-home box, and they’ll also receive a special chocolate popcorn favor box.
This delightful introduction to chocolate is geared just for kids looking to satisfy their creativity and their sweet tooth! To provide more personalized attention, each one-hour class is limited to four students and is taught by Margo Masaoka. Classes will take place on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm. Each class is $50.00 per student with all supplies provided by Oh! Chocolate.
You can sign up for classes by phone or on their website.
