pagliacciThe opening of Pagliacci Pizza on Mercer Island is one week away.

On Monday, September 26th, Pagliacci Pizza is celebrating the opening of their new store on the island by giving away slices all day long – and generously at that, with a two-slice limit per person.

Prior to the community pizza feast, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place with Deputy Mayor Debbie Bertlin at 10:45 am. All are invited to attend.

The store will officially open for business and delivery the following day, on Tuesday, September 27th. Doors will then be open daily at 11 a.m, and pizza delivery is available to any address on Mercer Island.

The building, which is in the final phase of construction, is mid-century modern, distinguished by brick accent walls and walls of windows. The restaurant will also offer outdoor seating on the patio, which includes an outdoor fireplace. The interior features a slice bar, and the beverage menu includes beer and wine.

The Mercer Island store is a meaningful milestone for Pagliacci co-owners and native islanders Matt Galvin and Pat McDonald.

“We’re really excited about making it happen,” Galvin said. “It’s a homecoming of sorts.”

Founded in 1979 on the Ave in the University District, Pagliacci Pizza now has 26 stores throughout the greater Seattle area. Over the decades, Pagliacci Pizza has been voted a Seattle favorite by various polls and has been awarded Best Pizza by Seattle Weekly and Seattle Magazine.

Pagliacci Pizza is located in Mercer Island’s Town Center at the corner of SE 78th Ave and SE 32nd St (3077 78th Ave SE) near Mercerdale Park.
