The Mercer Island Parks & Recreation Department is kicking off a new wellness program, led by nutrition coach Michelle Cartmel.

Wellness Wednesdays

April 1st marks the kick-off of Wellness Wednesdays, a series of open-house style events held at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center.  The workshops will take place the first Wednesday of each month from 9:30 to 10:30 am and will feature a unique topic.

This month’s topic is “Wellness 101: A Foolproof Guide to Getting Healthy.”  Michelle’s discussion will include:

  • Easily avoidable, foolish food mistakes
  • Top three healthy foods to add to your diet today
  • Mindful eating: think before you eat

Cost is $15/MI Resident | $18/non-resident
