A sweet storybook pop-up walking tour has opened in Luther Burbank Park and will be on display through October 17th. The event is geared for families with young children, but all park visitors – young and old – are welcome to enjoy the StoryWalk, brought to you by the Mercer Island Preschool Association (MIPA).

From the Mercer Island Preschool Association:

“Enjoy a short loop through the park while reading “Tiny, Perfect Things” by M.H. Clark. Just follow the signs to the next “page” of the story! Tiny, Perfect Things is the story of a child and a grandfather whose walk around the neighborhood leads to a day of shared wonder as they discover all sorts of tiny, perfect things together. This story is sure to delight all ages!”

The StoryWalk begins at Luther Burbank Park’s south parking lot (closest to the beach) at the intersection of SE 26th St and 84th Ave SE. Look for StoryWalk signs that welcome you with the following: “Take a treck on this path and read a children’s story. Follow the arrows, complete the book, and finish your hike!”

StoryWalk participants are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines and to follow the story in order in small groups of five or less.

The Mercer Island Preschool Association gives special thanks to the Mercer Island Parks & Recreation Department and the MI Community Fund for making this event possible.
