Town Center Visioning Public Hearing
Wednesday, January 20, 6:30 – 9 pm
West Mercer Elementary, 4141 81 Ave SE
The City of Mercer Island is hosting the first of three public hearings this week, designed to solicit feedback on the Town Center vision and development code updates being considered. This week’s hearing is focused on four Town Center topics: vision; building heights; building setbacks and massing; and affordable housing. The evening will start with an open house at 6:30pm, a brief presentation at 7:00pm, and then a public comment period.
Science Fun for Little Ones – Sensational Shapes

Shapes are the building blocks to so many things. Experiment with how shapes can change when they are mixed together, flipped around or enlarged. Seussical Jr. the Musical

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life in this fantastic musical extravaganza! Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, our feline narrator (in a very large hat) tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. The story takes off and away when Horton is also called upon to guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care. Best for ages 5+

MIPA Preschool Fair

Looking for a preschool, enrichment program, or childcare on Mercer Island? Don’t miss the Mercer Island Preschool Association’s 17th Annual Preschool Fair. Representatives from various programs on the island will be on-hand to answer your questions about their curriculum, enrollment, tuition, and program options. The fair is FREE and open to all interested parents and caregivers.
