Mercer Island Professional Firefighter’s Annual Food Drive
Wednesday, November 21, 10 – 5 pm
North QFC – 7823 SE 28th Street, South QFC – 8421 SE 68th Street
The Mercer Island Firefighters will be holding their Annual Food Drive benefiting the Mercer Island Food Pantry. Firefighters will be at both QFCs collecting food and accepting monetary donations. Money donated will be used to purchase fresh produce and meat. You can drop off donations at the Main Fire Station from Sunday, November 18 – Wednesday, November 21 between 8 am – 8pm.
Monday – Wednesday, November 19 – 21, 9 am – 4 pm

Full day camps with your favorite J Camp counselors for kids in grades Kindergarten – 5th. There will be swimming, active group games, energetic song sessions, messy science, and creative art projects – bring a friend!!

Swing Your Socks Off & Fabulous Foxtrot

Review basic swing steps and partnering, then learn fun and playful East Coast swing and “swing-blues” variations. Classes are beginning/intermediate levels. No partner needed. Take in conjunction with Foxtrot for a fabulous night of dance fundamentals!

Financing the College Education

Learn about several helpful methods to finance the college education in addition to financial aid. Also, learn about the financial aid application process and methodologies used in determining financial need. Guest speakers will be in attendance.
Community Coffee Hour

Infant, Child, Adult CPR with AED
Wednesday, November 21, 7 – 9 pm
Fire Station, 3030 78th Ave SE
The CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking. Upon completion of this course, students receive a Completion Card that is valid for two years.
Practice of Gratitude: Thanksgiving at Yogabliss

On Thanksgiving morning, Yogabliss will be hosting their annual “Practice of Gratitude.” They will offer 5 classes where they hope to bring the community together to offer up gratitude for the abundance in our lives and the blessings we share. These classes are donation based, and all proceeds will be given to Shanti Bhavan school, in support of Sinchana, the sweet young student that our community sponsors. There is a minimum donation of $25, and they will have a donation box in the studio all week for those that can not join.
Mercer Island Christmas Tree Lot
Saturday, November 24, 10 am – 5 pm
Former Tully’s lot, 7810 SE 27th Street
Buy a quality tree and give back to our local community! Choose from Noble, Nordmann and Douglas Firs in sizes from 5ft to 10ft tall. Be sure to get your mixed green wreaths and cedar garlands as well. All proceeds support Mercer Island Youth & Family Services and Mercer Island Lions Club charitable giving. The lot is open Thursdays 1 – 7 pm, Fridays 1- 7pm, Saturdays 10 am – 5 pm and Sundays 10 am – 5 pm. They only accept credit cards via Square, cash will not be accepted. They are also looking for volunteers if you are interested in helping at the tree lot.
Small Business Saturday/Indies First

Small Business Saturday is when shoppers across the country get together to support the local businesses that make our communities strong. Support Island Books and help them launch a fun-filled and joyous holiday season!
Community Dance with Little Bill & the Blue Notes

Learn the “Simple, Super, Smooth Joy of Traveling Blues” at a dance lesson with Dean Paton and Jodi Fleischman. Then enjoy Little Bill and the Blue Notes, local favorites who have wowed audiences with their take on Rhythm & Blues since 1956. Open to all ages and no partner necessary!
