The special guest of this month’s Chamber of Commerce luncheon is Kevin Mather, President of the Seattle Mariners, who will be sharing his presentation, “Who’s on First?” With a new General Manager and all the trades he’s made, the 2016 Mariners will definitely have a new look, but we’ll still have King Felix!

Shabbat Unplugged
Saturday, January 9, 3 – 5 pm
Stroum Jewish Community Center, 3801 East Mercer Way

Unplug from technology and plug in to your family and community. Shabbat Unplugged offers families the chance to limit screen time and connect with each other, in various activities open to the entire community. To slow down the frantic pace in which we live our lives, Shabbat Unplugged reminds us to think about the ways we experience our own lives. We’ll have family yoga, a gym obstacle course, swimming, PJ Library® storytelling, and Shabbat arts and crafts, ending in a group song session.

Mercer Island Boys Lacrosse Christmas Tree Pick-Ups

Sunday, January 10, 9 am – 2 pm

The Mercer Island Lacrosse Club is hosting its annual Christmas Tree Pick-Up Fundraiser. Sign up online for one of our pick up days, put your tree out to the curb by 9 AM on the day you selected and leave the hauling to our boys and parent volunteers! This is the Mercer Island Lacrosse Club’s largest annual fundraiser and represents a significant portion of our program funding allowing us to provide a high-quality, rewarding experience for our boys. Funds raised help pay for fields, referees, coaches, athletic trainers, away game transportation, balls, goals, first aid supplies, and other program expenses allowing us to keep registration fees down.
