Story Times at the Library

Join the Mercer Island Children’s Librarian for stories, songs, rhymes and fun in these 30 to 45-minute programs designed especially for you and your young child.

MIYFS ‘Giving from the Heart’ Fundraiser

Please join the Mercer Island Youth and Family Services Foundation at one of Mercer Island’s most important community gatherings of the year. Our annual “Giving from the Heart” fundraiser is a show of support and celebration for the services provided by the City’s Youth and Family Services Department (MIYFS). The programs are available to all Islanders: kids, teens, individuals, families, and seniors alike. Honorary Co-Chairs Sandy and Ken Glass welcome all Islanders (and friends) to attend the 14th annual breakfast, learn about MIYFS, and make a donation to support future programming.

Giving from the Heart – Shop for MIYFS

In addition to our breakfast event at the Community Center, Youth & Family Services extends our invitation to GIVE to you, the community. There are 15 locations on the Island – these business owners “Give from the Heart” by donating 20% of their proceeds on the 10th. if you are not able to join us at our Breakfast event, please consider shopping here. This year, we welcome four new locations to our short list of business partners: Mercer Island Florist, Au Courant | The Den | POSH, Mercer Island Athletic Club and Clarke & Clarke.

Music at Mo’s
Wednesday, February 10th, 5:30 – 8 pm
Mo’s Pizza, 2630 77th Ave SE
Come enjoy music at Mo’s every Wednesday evening through February. This week, On the Rock, a swing/roots band, will be performing, featuring Patrick Daugherty (Guitar/Vocals/Harmonica), Mark Gibbs (Bass), and Edgar Steinitz (Clarinet/Sax). No cover. All ages welcome. Reservations encouraged.

Super Sitters Class
Saturday, February 13, 9 am – 2 pm
Mercer Island Community & Event Center, 8236 SE 24th Street
This program is designed to train young people (ages 11 to 15) in basic babysitting and home-alone skills. Students completing this course will be better prepared to provide a safer and more positive infant/child care experience. Participants receive a Babysitting 101 handbook and certificate upon completion. Registration required. Cost: $49 (resident); $58 (non-resident).
MIPC Concert Series: The Critical Mass Big Band
