Here’s my weekly round-up of upcoming events for the week of March 28th – April 3rd on Mercer Island:
Nancy-StewartSing With Our Kids – Pajama Family Sing Along & Stories
Monday, March 28, 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Mercer Island Library, 4400 88th Ave SE
Bring your guitar or other instrument for a true community sing-along. Lyrics and chords will be projected on a screen so you can read, sing and play along. Nancy will be glad to tune your guitar and help you with chords before we start. Linda will share a special bedtime story before your leave.

Join the Mercer Island Children’s Librarian for stories, songs, rhymes and fun in these 30 to 45-minute programs designed especially for you and your young child.
Tuesday, March 29
Young Toddlers (12 – 24 months) – 10:30 – 11:15 am
Toddlers (2 – 3 years) – 11:30 am – Noon
Thursday, March 31
Infants (0 – 12 months) – 10:30 – 11 am
Preschoolers (3 – 6 years) – 1 – 2 pm

Wednesday, March 30, 6:30 – 9 pm
Lakeridge Elementary, 8215 SE 78 St.
The City of Mercer Island is hosting its third and final Town Center Vision hearing, which will focus primarily on these Town Center topics: Draft Town Center Comprehensive Plan Policies and the Draft Development Code amendments. The evening will start with an open house at 6:30pm, a brief presentation at 7:15pm, and then a public comment period. Public comments will be limited to three minutes per person, and the City also encourages written comments, which may be emailed to: [email protected]

Saturday, April 2, 6 pm
Old Boys & Girls Club, 2825 West Mercer Way
Join us for an evening of great food, groovy auction items and a chance to disco the night away. This year’s theme is 60’s/70’s – The Bell Bottom Bash! Think Austin Powers / Shagadellic! Music provided by local band MIMX. There will be a delicious dinner, a small silent and an incredible Live Auction with the last auction item “prize” being awarded to the winner of Disco for Dollars. New this year, Disco for Dollars will allow guests to buy themselves onto the dance floor or buy someone else onto the floor, and anyone already on the floor can buy themselves off! The dancers will be judged by local “celebrity” judges. There will be a signature cocktail, and we will have a whole table loaded with “International Boxes of Mystery” for people to bid on. Join the fun and help raise money for the Mercer Island Boys & Club through your disco dancing skills!

Meg-LippertPJ Story Time

On the first Saturday of every month, Island Books hosts a children’s pajama story time. This month’s storyteller is Meg Lippert with special guest opener, musician and singer Nancy Stewart. Geared especially for children over three; refreshments will be served.

Mercer Island Presbyterian Church, 3605 84th Ave SE

The 17 voices and chamber orchestra of the Lyric Arts Ensemble will offer “Straight from the ‘Art”, a concert of words, melodies, and harmonies to touch the heart – passion, war, peace, love, beauty, serenity, joy. Admission is free.
