Youth Theatre Northwest (YTN) cordially invites all Mercer Island community members to attend its annual “Live Out Loud” Gala Fundraiser on March 9th, 2019.

For nearly 35 years, YTN has served thousands of Mercer Island children and their families by nurturing the intellectual, artistic, and personal development of children and youth through drama education, performing opportunities, and live theatre experiences.

Youth Theatre produces 10 full productions each year, which engage over 10,000 audience members, many of whom are experiencing the performing arts for the first time. Through the magic of theatre, YTN helps young people find their “inner light” of self-confidence, sensitivity, creativity, and leadership.

“Live Out Loud” at YTN’s Gala Fundraiser

On March 9th, 2019, YTN will hold its annual fundraiser Gala at Washington Hall in Seattle. This elegant event attracts the best and brightest of Mercer Island, Seattle, Eastside, and South King County communities. Over 250 of our top donors, board members, and community leaders are expected to fill the hall for a glamorous evening of gourmet food and wine, whiskey tasting, and live performances by YTN students.

The evening’s gourmet dinner will be provided by award-winning local company Arista Catering. The Gala will feature an open bar featuring signature cocktails by Tatoosh Distillery and Tito’s Handmade Vodka, as well as beer and wine from local breweries and vineyards. During the silent auction, guests will have the opportunity to take part in a Mystery Wine Pull to win rare and vintage wines worth up to $500.

The Gala raises over 25% of YTN’s annual operating budget and is the only fundraiser event that the theatre holds all year. To reach its goal of over $200,000, the Gala will feature a variety of sought-after items in the live and silent auctions, including a signed Rolling Stones guitar and concert tickets, a Caribbean cruise, and a vacation package to see Hamilton in NYC! This unique New York trip will include dinner at a five-star Times Square restaurant and the opportunity to walk onstage after a Broadway performance of Hamilton. The only place you can win this one of a kind experience is at the “Live Out Loud” Gala on March 9th!

An Island Institution

In 1984, a group of parents set out in search of an artistic outlet for their children. When no such organization could be found on the Eastside of Lake Washington, they decided to open their own theatre.

Youth Theatre currently rents temporary space at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, as well as renting classrooms and performance spaces across the Island to house all our programs. Despite losing its permanent home in 2014, YTN continues to produce 10 full-scale productions a year and provides over $45,000 of scholarship funds annually with the aim of bringing high-quality arts experiences to all children.
