Join Parent Edge and the Mercer Island Forefront Team for this upcoming presentation – Youth Suicide Prevention for Parents. This event, specifically for parents, will take place on Wednesday, April 3rd, from 7 to 8:30 pm, at Islander Middle School.

This is an important conversation to continue within our community and learning Forefront’s strategies can help save lives. Mercer Island Youth & Family counselors will be on hand to answer your questions on the information presented.

From Parent Edge:

Through a presentation by members of the MI Forefront Team, learn evidence-based prevention strategies that you can use to help a youth in crisis stay safe and get support.  Just like first aid and CPR, this is valuable knowledge for everyone to have in their toolkit to support a healthy family and community.

From Forefront’s website:

Forefront is a place where expertise and partnership come together with a passion to save lives.

  • Vision: To foster a world that openly addresses suicide and mental health with compassion, and where every individual acts on their capacity to prevent suicide
  • Mission: Forefront Suicide Prevention is a Center of Excellence at the University of Washington focused on reducing suicide by empowering individuals and communities to take sustainable action, championing systemic change, and restoring hope.
  • Impact: Empowering individuals and communities, leading policy and systematic change, and restoring hope to suicide loss and attempt survivors.
