At this month’s luncheon, the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce is pleased to host a City Council Candidates Forum. There are four contested and one uncontested seat on the Mercer Island City Council that will be decided by the November 3rd election. Whether you are a Mercer Island voter or not, many issues in this election are related to the future of the Town Center, including density, parking, and transit. This meeting is the only opportunity for the Chamber to host the candidates. Because of the limited amount of time, each of the nine candidates has been asked to present a five-minute position statement. There won’t be time for a debate or questions although some candidates may be able to answer questions after the meeting adjourns. Luncheon cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members.
